With a fantastic start to the campaign against a tough draw, Arsenal are in high spirits when they start their UEFA Champions League campaign in 2026-27. Mikel Arteta’s men were now firm favourites for victory in their Premier League opener with a chilling European defeat, having been routed away from home by the Italians. As it is, Arteta is likely to have plenty of options at his disposal with another meeting against the Italian side, and he’ll be prudent with player fitness.
There are still a number of issues of concern for the Gunners in regard to injuries, especially the dons. Neither St. Patrick’s Raiders winger, William Saliba, nor the summer signing, Cristhian Mosquera were available due to injuries. With a groin problem, Jurrien Timber has returned to training duties and could sit on the bench, but Arteta won’t want to take the risk of selecting him from the get-go.
Buyer David Raya should stay in the goal following a back four of Ben White, Ezri Konsa, Gabriel Magalhaes and Piero Hincapie. Since making his debut with the team in the XI, Konsa has made a positive impression and will feature in the double central defence with Gabriel.

In midfield, Martin Zubimendi is tipped to return after being rested, partnering Declan Rice in the holding roles. Martin Odegaard will join the fray again in attack as he was doing for his impressive match-winning against Napoli in the previous game.
Bukayo Saka is likely to provide support from the right wing and Christos Tzolis is looking for the right forward man after getting off to a promising start to the season on the left. Kai Havertz will clearly continue to have his name put forward as a Blues substitute, though Arteta should be looking for at least 11 and possibly 12 others to come in during turnover if he is to be expected to keep going.
